Directory Listing Not Correct When Using Russian Characters (178636)

SYMPTOMS

When you create a directory containing Russian characters on a File and Print Services for NetWare (FPNW) server using a Windows-based client operating system with a NetWare redirector and then press F5 to refresh the Windows Explorer or File Manager view on that client, you notice that all directories without Russian characters (such as the default SYSVOL directories Login, Mail, Public, and System) disappear.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0 or Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows NT 4.0 and Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4.0 and Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition Service Pack 4.
