FS98: Horizon Appears Gray or Distorted (178536)

SYMPTOMS

When you are flying in Microsoft Flight Simulator 98, the horizon may appear gray or distorted, and may never seem to change. In addition, a gray band with a height of between one quarter inch and two inches may extend across the entire window.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if visibility is set to any setting other than Unlimited. The default visibility setting in Flight Simulator 98 is 20 miles (32 km).

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use the following steps:

  1. Start Flight Simulator 98, and then select a flight.
  2. On the World menu, click Weather.
  3. In the Visibility box, click Unlimited, and then click OK.
