This article was previously published under Q178459 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition, you cannot use the TAB key or

cells.
CAUSE
This problem may occur after you merge cells in Microsoft Excel 98 and hide
the column or row that is the top, bottom, leftmost, or rightmost portion
of the merged cells.
WORKAROUND
You can select partially hidden merged cells if you use the pointer to
click them or use the Go To command on the Edit Menu.
