PRJ: Use Default in Change Working Time Dialog Shows Exception (178397)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project 2000
- Microsoft Project 98 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q178397 SYMPTOMS
In the Change Working Time dialog box, when you select a column
representing a day and then click Use Default, one or more days may
unexpectedly be displayed as exceptions, although the working times are
correct.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when a task has timephased percent complete that
occurs outside of standard working time.
For example, if a task occurs on a Monday from 4:00 AM until 12:00 PM, and
the default working time is 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, that Monday is displayed as
exception if you choose the default working times for all Mondays. Note
that the working time still reflects 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
WORKAROUND
To remove exception indicators, follow these steps:
- On the Tools menu, click Change Working Time.
- In the Change Working Time dialog box, click to select the day
that shows the exception, and then click Use Default. Repeat
this step for all days where you want to remove the exception
indicators.
NOTE: If you select a column that represents a day of the week, and then click Use Default, some days are again displayed as exceptions, although their working times are correct.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft
Project listed above.
