SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to print from on eof the programs listed at the beginning of this article, you may receive the following error message:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Program: drive:\Program Files\programname\program.exe.
Abnormal program termination.
where
drive is the letter of the hard disk on which
the program is installed,
programname is the name of one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, and
program.exe is the program executable file.
When you click
OK, the program quits.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods.
Remove the Printer Driver
To remove the printer driver:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then
click Printers.
- Right-click the printer for which you want to remove the driver,
and then click Delete.
- When you are prompted to delete files that are only used for
this printer, click Yes.
Install the Latest Printer Driver for Your Printer
Contact your printer manufacturer to inquire about how to obtain and
install the latest version of the printer driver for your printer.

Install the Latest Versions of the System Files
Download the Run-Time Repair Tool (Runtifix.exe) to install the latest versions of the system files.

- Msvcrt.dll
- Oleaut32.dll

Microsoft scanned this file for viruses. Microsoft used the most current virus-detection software that was available on the date that the file was posted. The file is stored on security-enhanced servers that help to prevent any unauthorized changes to the file.
To install the Runtifix.exe file:
- Double-click Runtifix.exe.
- Click Yes to continue if Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or
later is installed on your computer.
- Click OK.
- When you are prompted to restart your computer, click Yes.
