Money 98: State and ZIP Code on Separate Lines on Printed Checks (177950)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Money 98
- Microsoft Money 98 Deluxe Edition
- Microsoft Money 98 Financial Suite
This article was previously published under Q177950 SYMPTOMS
When printing checks in Money 98, the state and the ZIP/Postal Code are
printed on separate lines below the city. This format is not approved by
the U.S. Postal Service.
For example, if you enter the City, State and ZIP/Postal Code of a payee in
the appropriate payee boxes, your output looks like this
Microsoft
Team Wallstreet
2199 Water Ridge Parkway
Charlotte
NC 28217
rather than correct output like this:
Microsoft
Team Wallstreet
2199 Water Ridge Parkway
Charlotte, NC 28217
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, change the way the address is entered in the
Payee Details area of Money by following these steps:
- On the navigation bar, click Categories.
- Click Payees.
- Select the payee whose address is printing incorrectly, and then click
Go To Payee.
- In the Payee Details area, enter the City, State and Zip code in the
City box. For example, if your city is Charlotte, your state is North
Carolina, and your ZIP/Postal Code is 28217-0001, you would enter the
following in the City box (leaving the State and Zip/PC boxes empty):
NOTE: If your city, state and ZIP/Postal code do not all fit in the City
box, enter this information in the second line of the Address box.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
