SYMPTOMS
When you start your computer, you may receive one of the following error
messages:
- Nav Autoprotect: Cannot load autoprotect Windows agent.
- Norton AntiVirus cannot start.
- Fatal 0E at 0028:xxxxxxxx in vxd vdd(0b).
CAUSE
You may receive the error message if Norton AntiVirus is installed.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, add Norton AntiVirus to the Allowed Programs list
in Protect It!. To do this, follow these steps:
- Log in to Microsoft Windows 95 as a family member without restrictions.
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Protect It!, type your Protect It! key, and then click OK.
- In the Family Members box, click .Default, and then click Set/Change.
- Click Next, and then click More under the Allowed Programs box.
- Open the Norton AntiVirus folder (the default location of this folder
is Program Files\Norton AntiVirus), click the Navapw32.exe file, and
then click Open.
- Click Next, and then click Finish.
- Click Close, and then click OK.
