This article was previously published under Q177573 SYMPTOMS You cannot insert a Microsoft PowerPoint slide into a
Microsoft Excel workbook or a Microsoft Word document. You cannot insert the
slide by using the user interface or by using a Visual Basic for Applications
procedure. If you click Object on the Insert menu, no command exists
for inserting PowerPoint slide. If you try to programmatically
insert a PowerPoint object, you receive the following error message:
Run-time error '1004' Cannot insert object
STATUS This behavior is by design of Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh
Edition. PowerPoint 98 is not an OLE Automation server; therefore, you cannot
insert a PowerPoint object into another program.
REFERENCES For more information about using Automation when you insert
an object, click the Office Assistant, type "automation," click Search, and
then click to view "Add Method (OLEObjects Collection)."
NOTE: If
the Assistant is hidden, click the Office Assistant button on the Standard
toolbar.
