Chaos: Black Flashes or Black Box Surrounding Pointer (177494)

When you play Lost World: Jurassic Park Chaos Island, you may experience
one of the following problems:
- A black box surrounds the pointer on the Recruit screen.
- The display is distorted and black flashes appear, making it impossible
for you to play the game.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you use an Orchid Kelvin Video 64 video card.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, install the video drivers included on the Jurassic
Park Chaos Island CD-ROM. To do so, follow these steps:
- Insert the Lost World: Jurassic Park Chaos Island CD-ROM into the
CD-ROM drive.
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add New Hardware.
- If you use Microsoft Windows 95, click Next, click No, and then click
Next. If you use Microsoft Windows 98, click Next, click Next, click No,
and then click Next.
- Click Display Adapters, and then click Next.
- Click Have Disk.
- In the Copy Manufacturer's Files From box, type the following line,
and then press ENTER
<cdrom>:\setup\drivers\directx3.0\drivers\display
where <cdrom> is the letter of the CD-ROM drive.
- In the Manufacturers box, click Orchid Technology.
- In the Models box, click Orchid Kelvin 64 (Cirrus Logic), and then
click OK.
- Continue to follow the installation instructions until the updated
display driver is installed.
