SUMMARY

This article describes how to remove the available Internet Locator Server (ILS) directory servers from the Server box in NetMeeting.

MORE INFORMATION

WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

NOTE: For information about how to edit the registry, view the Changing Keys And Values online Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe). Note that you should make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat) before you edit the registry.

To remove the available directory servers from the Server box, delete the Directory key under the following registry key:
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Conferencing\UI

The Directory key is recreated the next time you start NetMeeting, but the list of available servers is blank. If you want to restore the default list of available directory servers, reinstall NetMeeting.

Manually Adding Directory Servers to the Server Box

To manually add a directory server to the Server box, follow these steps in NetMeeting:

  1. In the left pane, click Directory.
  2. Click the directory server that appears in the Server box to select it, type the name of the directory server that you would like to add to the list, and then press ENTER.
  3. Once NetMeeting connects to the directory server, it is added to the list of available directory servers in the Server box.
NOTE: To delete ILS entries in NetMeeting version 3.01:
  1. Open the Find Someone window, and then click the directory you want to delete.
  2. Click the X button beside the directory entry. Note that you cannot delete a directory you are currently logged in to. To delete the directory you are logged in to, you must first log off the directory.
