SYMPTOMS

You may receive the following error message when you attempt to start the programs listed in the "Applies To" section of this article:
SetDisplay Mode Error. DDERR_GENERIC
When you click OK, you receive the following information:
<Program name> unable to initialize DirectDraw.

CAUSE

This error message occurs if you try to start a DreamWorks program while Microsoft NetMeeting is running on your computer. NetMeeting prevents the screen resolution from being changed while it is running. The DreamWorks programs must change the screen resolution to 640 x 480 before they start.

RESOLUTION

Close NetMeeting before you start the DreamWorks programs listed in the applies to section of this article.
