PRJ98: Setup.wri has Wrong Steps for Workgroup Message Handler (177025)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project 98 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q177025 SYMPTOMS
The instructions in the "Install the Workgroup Message Handler" section of
the Setup.wri file incorrectly states that you should copy the following
files to a single floppy disk:
Extract.exe
Prj98_1.cab
Setup.ini
WGSetup.exe
WGSetup.inf
WGSetup.1st
WGSetup.stf
You cannot copy all of these files to a single floppy disk because their
combined file size exceeds the amount of free space available on the disk.
RESOLUTION
The Extract.exe file is not needed to install the workgroup message handler, so you do not need to copy this file to a disk. Copy the following
files to the first floppy disk:
Prj98_1.cab
Setup.ini
WGSetup.exe
WGSetup.inf
WGSetup.1st
WGSetup.stf
Copy the following file to the second floppy disk:
You will now be able to use the two disks as described in the Setup.Wri
file.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft
Project listed above.
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service
Release 1 (SR-1).
