Client Stops Responding When Accessing IIS Server (176962)

SYMPTOMS

When two or more clients simultaneously access the same Web server, Internet Information Server (IIS) stops and the client computers become unresponsive. You are forced to shut down and restart the client computers.

This problem only applies to multiprocessor systems running the Japanese version of Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 3, IIS 3.0, and version 3.0.2.926 of the FrontPage Server Extensions.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next IIS service pack that contains this fix.
