PRJ98: Task Information Wrong, Can't Edit it in Resource Pool (176934)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project 98, task information in a Resource pool file appears to be incorrect and you cannot edit it in the Task Information dialog box.

CAUSE

The Resource Pool file caches resource assignment information, but it does not cache the details of the tasks. As a result, task information will be incorrect and you will not be able to edit the information in the resource pool unless the files are open in memory.

WORKAROUND

To view or edit task information, open the file that contains that task and uses the Resource Pool file.
