Shortcut Key for Format Cells Does Not Work (176847)

SYMPTOMS

When you press the shortcut key in Microsoft Excel for Windows (CRTL+1) or in Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh (COMMAND+1) for the Format Cells dialog box, the Format Cells dialog box may not appear.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you use the number 1 on the numeric keypad when you press the shortcut key.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem no longer occurs in Microsoft Excel 2000.
