XL98: Patterns or Textures Are Printed Smaller or Larger When Zoomed (176554)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition
This article was previously published under Q176554 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition, if you print a worksheet that
contains drawing objects or AutoShapes that are filled with patterns or
textures, the patterns and textures may be printed larger or smaller than
you expected.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the zoom setting for the worksheet is set to a
value other than 100 percent (100%).
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use the Zoom tool on the Standard toolbar to
set the zoom setting to 100 percent. Then, after you print the worksheet,
set the zoom back to the original value.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem
and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it
becomes available.
MORE INFORMATION
The zoom setting in Microsoft Excel is designed to allow you to zoom in or
out of a worksheet when you view it on the screen. The zoom setting should
not affect the appearance of a worksheet when you print the worksheet.
However, if any drawing objects or AutoShapes in the worksheet are filled
with patterns or textures, the patterns and textures may also be zoomed
when you print the worksheet. For example, if you zoom the worksheet to 200
percent, the patterns and textures are printed at 200 percent of their
normal sizes.
Note that the sizes of the drawing objects and AutoShapes are not affected.
