DirectX 5: Invalid Page Fault on HP Pavilion Computer (176341)

When you install DirectX 5 on certain models of Hewlett-Packard (HP)
Pavilion computers, you may experience the following problems:
- When you start GTE Quick Internet Connect, you receive the following error messages:
BROWSER.EXE caused an invalid page fault in module BROWSER.EXE.
BROWSER.EXE caused an invalid page fault in module OC30.DLL. - When you start the HP System Wizard (a diagnostic program included with HP Pavilion computers) you may receive the following error message:
SW caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.dll
This problem has been reported to occur with the following models of HP
computer:
- HP Pavilion 3100
- HP Pavilion 3265
- HP Pavilion 8160
- HP Pavilion 8180
- HP Pavilion 8240
