WD: How to Toggle Background Pagination in Word (176121)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word 97 for Windows
- Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition
This article was previously published under Q176121 SUMMARY When the Background Repagination option is turned on, Word
paginates the document when the program is idle. This allows the page numbers
on the status bar to remain current. Word will insert dotted lines to represent
page breaks.
In some cases, the Background Repagination option can
slow other operations. If this is a problem, you need to turn off Background
Repagination.
