When you open a Microsoft Word 7.0 or Word 97 file on your desktop
computer that has been saved using Microsoft Pocket Word, data may be
missing or Word 7.0 or Word 97 may stop responding (hang).
CAUSE
This problem can occur if your Word 7.0 or Word 97 file contains
formatting that is not saved correctly in Pocket Word. The following
type of formatting is known to cause this problem:
- A zero-width column in a table.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
MORE INFORMATION
To avoid overwriting your original Word 7.0 or Word 97 file, save files in
Pocket Word with a different name or extension.
NOTE: The default extension for Pocket Word files is .pwd.
