Cannot Remove Auditing Arrows by Using Trace Tools (176006)

In Microsoft Excel, if you select cells with auditing arrows, hold down
SHIFT, and then click either the Trace Precedents tool or the Trace
Dependents tool on the Auditing toolbar, the auditing arrows are not
removed from the cells.
NOTE: In Microsoft Excel versions 5.0 and 7.0, the auditing arrows are
removed from the selected cells when you hold down the SHIFT key and click
either of the tools.
WORKAROUND
To remove a precedent or dependent arrow from a cell in a worksheet,
select the cell, and then click either the Remove Precedent Arrows tool or
the Remove Dependent Arrows tool on the Auditing toolbar.
If you want to remove all auditing arrows from the active worksheet, click
the Remove All Arrows tool on the Auditing toolbar.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
