"Invalid Picture" error message when you set the Picture property in Excel for Mac (175918)

SYMPTOMS

You may receive one of the following error messages when you try to set the Picture property of a user form:
Invalid picture

-or-

Run-time error '481':
Invalid picture

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you attempt to set the Picture property of a user form, either manually or programmatically, to a WMF, PICT, EMP, EPS, GIF, JPEG, TIFF, or PNG file.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, set the Picture property to a BMP graphic.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
