Pressing NUM LOCK Key Does Not Turn On the Number Lock Setting (175882)

When you press the NUM LOCK key, the Number Lock setting on the Natural
Keyboard may not turn on.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you have pen or touch-screen device software
installed on the computer. This software can turn off the Number Lock
keyboard setting.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, you can temporarily disable the pen or
touch-screen device. To disable the device, use the following steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click System.
- Click the Device Manager tab.
- Double-click the Ports branch to expand it.
- Double-click the port to which the pen or touch-screen device is
connected.
- In the Device Usage area on the General tab, click the Original
Configuration (Current) check box to clear it.
NOTE: If you are using Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2, click the
Disable In This Hardware Profile check box to select it.
- Click OK.
- If you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
To enable your pen or touch-screen device, follow the steps above, but in
step 6, select or clear the check box you cleared or selected.
