Bookshelf: Cannot Use ALT+F4 to Quit Program (175082)

SYMPTOMS

You may be unable to quit Microsoft Bookshelf using the ALT+F4 key combination if the mouse pointer is located over a button or tab in Bookshelf 98, or if you expand the Pinpointer menu in Bookshelf 99.

NOTE: To expand the Pinpointer menu in Bookshelf 99, click the arrow located above the list of articles.

RESOLUTION

To quit Bookshelf, click Exit on the File menu.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

This problem does not occur in Bookshelf 98 if you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0. However, even if you are using Internet Explorer 4.0, the Bookshelf Daily window in Bookshelf does not close when you press ALT+F4 if the mouse pointer is located over one of the buttons in this window.
