XL97: Copying Shapes Cancels Selection of Shape (174678)

After you copy a shape to another worksheet in Microsoft Excel 97, the
shape you copied may no longer be selected.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
- You draw a shape on a worksheet.
-and-
- You select the cells around the shape and copy them.
-and-
- You select the shape.
- You then paste the cells you copied to another worksheet.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, follow these steps:
- Select the shape.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy.
- Switch to the worksheet on which you want to paste the shape.
- On the Edit menu, click Paste.
NOTE: This method copies only the shape, not the cells around the shape.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
