How To Install Active Messaging 1.1 for Use with Active Server Pages (174636)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Visual InterDev 1.0
- Microsoft Active Server Pages 1.0
This article was previously published under Q174636 SUMMARY
The Microsoft Exchange Active Messaging component, formally known as OLE
Messaging, is designed to work with Microsoft Internet Information Server
3.0 (IIS 3.0) as a server-side component. While Active Messaging calls can
be made from both server- and client-side script, this article focuses on
the server-side implementation of Active Messaging.
The Active Messaging component is a server-side component that can be
instantiated from within an Active Server Pages (ASP) page, allowing ASP to
access the messaging functionality and information stored in Exchange
Server. For example, e-mail messages and calendar information can be
accessed from ASP.
