To turn your ActiMates Barney, Arthur and D.W. character off, squeeze one of its hands and one of its feet at the same time. Barney moves his hands down and says "Goodnight." Arthur and D.W. move their hands down and say, "See ya later." At this point, the character is turned off.
To turn your ActiMates Teletubby off, squeeze a foot while you press the tummy. The Teletubby says "B-bye," and is then turned off.

If Barney is left on, but not touched for a few minutes, he is automatically turned off. First he says "Yaaw, I'm sleepy," and a few seconds later "Yaaw, it's time to go to sleep. Goodnight."
If Arthur and D.W are left on, but not touched for a few minutes, they are automatically turned off. First they say, "Hello, are you still there?" A few seconds later they say, "Oooh, I'm sleepy." A few seconds later they say, "See Ya Later."
If a Teletubby is left on, but not touched for about a minute, it is automatically turn off. A setting sun appears on the tummy just before it is turned off.
