"Access Denied" trying to use HrBackupPrepare() (172715)

The HrBackupPrepare() function returns the error "Access Denied" (error
number 5) if the Windows NT account of the caller is a member of the Backup
Operators, but has a different ID from the Exchange Service "Log On As"
account.
RESOLUTION
The user should back up Exchange remotely. If the Windows NT account has to
log on to the same machine where Exchange Server resides (local), the ID
should be the same as the Exchange Service.
STATUS
Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in
the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
