XL97: Unable to Open File After You Change Code Name of Sheet (172500)

When you open a file in Microsoft Excel, you may receive one of the
following error messages, and afterwards, you cannot open the file.
Microsoft Windows 95
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be
shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
If you click Details, you may receive an error message similar to the
following:
Excel caused an invalid page fault in module Excel.exe at
0137:3046dff3.
Microsoft Windows NT
Dr. Watson for Windows NT
An application error has occurred and an application error log is
being generated.
Excel.exe
Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address 0x3046f230.
Microsoft Windows 2000
The instruction at "0x3046ff43" referenced memory at "0x00000018". The memory could not be "written".
CAUSE
This problem occurs when all of the following conditions are true:
- You rename a worksheet in a workbook.
-and-
- You change the code name of a worksheet with a Visual Basic for
Applications macro.
-and-
- You save the workbook.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Excel 97.
This problem no longer occurs in Microsoft Excel 2000.
