PPT97: Color Dialog Box Displays Only Blues and Greens (172360)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 97 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q172360 SYMPTOMS
In the PowerPoint 97, the Standard tab in the Colors dialog box has a
hexagonal color picker. Instead of displaying a full spectrum of colors,
this color picker may display only shades of blue and green.
NOTE: When you click one of the colors in the color picker, the sample
swatch in the lower right corner of this dialog box displays the correct
color.
CAUSE
This problem occurs if you use the ATI Graphics Turbo PCI (mach64 GX)
video display driver that ships with Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2, and
your Color Palette is set to True Color (32-bit).
NOTE: To locate this option, right-click the Windows 95 desktop, and then
click the Settings tab in the Display Properties dialog box.
RESOLUTION
Change the Color palette to a setting other than True Color (32-bit). This
problem does not occur with True Color (16-bit) or True Color (24-bit)
color settings.
