XL97: Page Fault Occurs Pasting Input Cells for a Data Table (172212)

When you paste information in Microsoft Excel 97, you may receive one of the following error messages.
Microsoft Windows 95
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be
shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
If you click Details, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
Excel caused an invalid page fault in module Excel.exe at
0137:3021354e.
Microsoft Windows NT
Dr. Watson for Windows NT
An application error has occurred and an application error log is
being generated.
Excel.exe
Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address 0x302141b0.
Microsoft Windows 2000
Program Error
Excel.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
You will need to restart the program.
An error log is being created.
When you click OK, Excel quits.
CAUSE
This problem may occur when you do the following:
- You select the two cells that are being used as row input cell
and column input cell in a two-variable data table and click Cut
on the Edit menu.
-and-
- You paste the cut cells into a different worksheet.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 97 for
Windows. This problem no longer occurs in Microsoft Excel 2000.
