FIX: Code Module Window Displayed Transparently in SDI (171484)

SYMPTOMS

The BAS Module Window becomes transparent and only the frame is visible.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This bug has been fixed in Visual Studio 97 Service Pack 2.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Start Visual Basic 5.0.
  2. If you are not already using Visual Basic 5.0 in SDI mode, then go to Tools | Options, select the Advanced tab, and check the SDI Development Environment option. You must restart Visual Basic 5.0 for this setting to take effect.
  3. Create a new Standard EXE project.
  4. Insert a new module into the project.
  5. Minimize the module Window.
  6. Minimize the IDE Window.
  7. Restore the IDE Window.
  8. Restore the module Window. Note that only module Window frame is restored. The window itself is transparent.
