The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q170938 SYMPTOMS
If you upgrade to Microsoft Excel 97 from an earlier version of Excel, the
user settings are reset to the new defaults for Excel 97. For example, if
you changed the default number of worksheets in a new workbook from 16 to 2
in an earlier version of Excel, upgrading to Excel 97 resets the default
number of worksheets in a new workbook to 3.
CAUSE
Excel 97 does not inherit the user settings from earlier versions of Excel.
STATUS
This behavior is by design of Microsoft Excel 97.
