DataMap in Memory for Each Map Created in Workbook (170746)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel 2000
- Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q170746 SYMPTOMS
When you create multiple maps in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Data Map
remains in random access memory for each map that you create in a workbook.
CAUSE
Microsoft Data Map is a single-document program, which means it can use
only one set of data at a time. Therefore one instance of Data Map is
loaded into memory for each set of data (each map object) that is present
in the workbook.
MORE INFORMATION
Each time you create a map in Microsoft Excel, system resources are used by
the Microsoft Data Map program in memory. This may cause the system to
perform more slowly.
