The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Project 98 for Windows
  • Microsoft Project for Windows 95 4.1
  • Microsoft Project for Windows 95 4.1a

This article was previously published under Q170718

SYMPTOMS

If you use Automation and set the Alerts method to false, when you return to Microsoft Project and attempt to close a file using the Control menu, you are prompted with the Save As dialog box instead of the Save dialog box.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, set the Alerts method to true. When the Alerts method is set to true, the Save dialog box appears instead of the Save As dialog box when you attempt to close a file using the Control menu.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.

MORE INFORMATION

When you work with Automation between applications, it is a good practice to reset application level options when your macro finishes executing. By resetting the Alerts method to true, the Save dialog box will appear instead of the Save As dialog box.
