WD: Character Spacing Converted Incorrectly (170037)

In Word 7.x for Windows, when you use the Word 97 Import Converter,
Mswrd832.cnv, to open a Microsoft Word 97 document, the spacing setting is
converted incorrectly. This incorrect conversion changes the appearance of
the document.
To find the spacing setting, click Font on the Format menu, and then click
the Character Spacing tab.
CAUSE
The version of the Word 97 Import Converter that you are using cannot
interpret the spacing setting correctly.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, upgrade to the latest version of the Word 97-2000

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem with certain versions of the
Word 97 Import converter.
This problem is corrected in the version of the converter available
with Microsoft Office 97 SR-2.
