XL97: Printing After Deleting ActiveX Control Causes IPF (169056)

SYMPTOMS

If you perform a print or a print preview operation immediately after deleting an ActiveX control from your worksheet, you may receive the following error message:
This program has perfomed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
If you click Details, you receive an error message similar to the following:
EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in module VBA332.DLL at 0137:651af4f1.

CAUSE

This problem may result from the following sequence of events:
  1. You activate an ActiveX control.
  2. You print or print preview the worksheet.
  3. You enter Design Mode by clicking the Design Mode button on the Control Toolbox toolbar.
  4. You delete the ActiveX control.
  5. You print or print preview the worksheet.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
