Information about the cluster group (168948)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
- Microsoft Windows NT Server, Enterprise Edition 4.0
This article was previously published under Q168948 SUMMARY The cluster group contains resources that are related only to cluster administration and that are considered core resources. If you add additional resources to the group, you may not be able to administer the cluster effectively. If resources in the cluster group fail, failover may be triggered or you may not be able to administer the cluster effectively because the quorum disk is moved from node to node. If the application resource fills up the quorum disk with application data, there may not be disk space available for the various cluster files such as the cluster database or the checkpoint files. Therefore, Microsoft recommends that the quorum resource remain in a group that has only core resources.
