The actual size of the Explorer Cache folder may be larger than the size
that is set in Internet Explorer Preferences.
MORE INFORMATION
Internet Explorer improves performance when you have many cached files by
tracking the total number of files in the Explorer Cache folder. For Web
pages that you access frequently, Internet Explorer accesses the Web page
and its associated files from the cache instead of downloading it entirely
from the Internet. Depending on the size of each file, the total size of
the cache folder can exceed the maximum size set in Internet Explorer
Preferences.
To change the Internet Explorer cache size, click Preferences on the Edit
menu in Internet Explorer, click Advanced under Web Browser, and then type
a new size for the cache in the Maximum Size box under Cache.
