FIX: MSWC.BrowserType Control Does Not Recognize Internet Explorer 3.02 (168269)

SYMPTOMS

When using the MSWC.BrowserType control that installs with the Active Server Pages, the properties of the control return "Unknown" when run on Internet Explorer 3.02 or Internet Explorer 4.0.

CAUSE

The cause of this error is that the file, BrowsCap.ini, does not have an entry for Internet Explorer 3.02 or Internet Explorer 4.0.

Microsoft scanned this file for viruses. Microsoft used the most current virus-detection software that was available on the date that the file was posted. The file is stored on security-enhanced servers that help to prevent any unauthorized changes to the file.

Download the file and save it over the existing BrowsCap.ini file, which is located in the following folders, based on the Operating System being used:
