This article was previously published under Q167940 SYMPTOMS
When using Microsoft Outlook 97 on a Gateway 2000 computer with an internal
Telepath Fax Modem (USR Sportster Voice 33600 PnP Fax Modem), you are able
to make only one call through the modem's speakerphone during an Outlook
session.
CAUSE
There is a problem with the driver supplied for the USR 33600 Sportster
voice Modem.
RESOLUTION
Make all voice calls after the first one through the handset rather than
the speakerphone.
-or-
Restart Outlook between each voice call.
-or-
Use the US Robotics 28.8 Internal Fax driver delivered with Windows 95.
This driver does not support the Caller-ID feature.
NOTE: Outlook does not support the voice capabilities of any modem that
advertises a speakerphone capability. It provides only a telephone dialing
capability that is similar to the Phone Dialer in Windows 95/98
accessories.
