SUMMARY

Microsoft FrontPage 97 is available in three different versions: a retail version, an upgrade version that requires, and an upgrade version for Windows NT. The retail version will install on any computer that meets the system requirements. The upgrade version requires that you have a qualifying product installed on your computer or that you have Disk 1 from the qualifying product available when you run the setup program. The upgrade version for Windows NT ships with service pack 2 for Windows NT version 4.0.

The following Microsoft FrontPage products can be upgraded to FrontPage 97 if you are using Windows 95, service pack 2 for Windows NT version 4.0, or service pack 5 for Windows NT 3.51:
  • FrontPage 1.1 retail version.
  • FrontPage 1.1 included with Windows NT 4.0 server.
  • FrontPage 1.1 available for download on the Internet from a Microsoft approved retail provider.
The following Microsoft FrontPage 97 upgrade products will only work on specific platforms:
  • FrontPage 97 upgrade included with service pack-2 for Windows NT 4.0. You can upgrade any of the FrontPage 1.1 versions listed above only if you are running Windows NT 4.0 or service pack 5 for Windows 3.51 with

  • Any Microsoft Office product.
  • Any third-party web publishing program.
NOTE: When you install Microsoft FrontPage 97 for Windows, the Setup program may not correctly recognize that you have one or more of the qualifying products listed above installed on your computer.
