To rename the Service Account, follow these steps:

  1. Start the Windows NT User Manager for Domains.
  2. Select the current service account and rename it.
  3. In Control Panel, double-click Services.
Select each Microsoft Exchange Service:
  1. Click Startup.
  2. In the Service dialog box, select the This Account option, and then click ... (the button to the left of the account name space).
  3. Select the renamed service account.
  4. Enter and confirm the password.
At this point, the Service Account change is updated in the registry.
