The information in this article applies to:
- The Integrated Debugger, when used with:
- Microsoft Visual C++, 32-bit Enterprise Edition 5.0
- Microsoft Visual C++, 32-bit Professional Edition 5.0
This article was previously published under Q167358 SYMPTOMS
If the remote machine is a Windows 95 machine and Stop Debugging is
selected inside the InitInstance member function of a default Appwizard
generated application, Developer Studio hangs on the local machine. If you
kill Developer Studio from Task Manager, the remote Windows 95 machine
crashes and must be restarted.
RESOLUTION
Using single stepping (F10 or F11) or Debug Go (F5), return from the
InitInstance function so that the main window of the application is
visible. Now you can safely select Stop Debugging.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed
at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Visual C++
version 6.0 for Windows.
