SUMMARY

In Microsoft Project you can identify the source of a linked cell by double-clicking the linked cell, which opens the source file. This article describes how to identify the source of a paste linked cell without double-clicking the linked cell to open the source file.

MORE INFORMATION

To determine the link source for a cell, do the following:

  1. Select a linked cell. (A linked cell contains a triangle in the lower right corner of the cell.)
  2. On the Edit menu, click Links.

The Links dialog box appears. If your project contains many linked cells, the source of each link is listed in the Links box. When you select a cell before you open the Links dialog box, the selected link in the List box corresponds to the linked cell. If the path and file name are too long, the full path is shown next to the Source label.
  3. Click Cancel.
For additional information, click the Help button in the Links dialog box.
