Ejecting CD-ROM Causes Microsoft Excel to Close (167136)

When you press the eject button on your CD-ROM drive, Microsoft Excel 97
may close unexpectedly.
NOTE: This behavior occurs regardless of whether there is a compact disc in
the CD-ROM drive.
RESOLUTIONWORKAROUND
To work around this problem, eject the contents of the CD-ROM drive by
using Microsoft CD Player. To do this, do the following:
- On the Start Menu, point to Programs. Point to Accessories, point to
Multimedia, and then click CD Player.
- Click the eject button in Microsoft CD Player.
NOTE: This procedure works only if a compact disc is in the CD-ROM drive.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 97 for
Windows. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows,
Service Release 1 (SR-1).
