INFO: Working with Large Diagrams in Database Designer (166881)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Visual Database Tools
- Microsoft Visual InterDev 6.0
This article was previously published under Q166881 SUMMARY
Although there is no limit to the number of tables that a Database Designer
diagram can contain, you will have better performance and a more stable
work environment if you limit the number of tables in a database diagram to
300 or less.
MORE INFORMATION
The performance of the Database Designer is dependent on the size of the
machine's physical and virtual memory. Under low memory conditions, the
performance of the Database Designer will degrade and possibly crash your
machine. Experience has shown a limit of approximately 300 tables in a
database diagram on a P100 with 24 MB of RAM.
