Err Msg: The Following Appointment Cannot Be Written to Schedule (166683)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to synchronize your Handheld PC (H/PC) with your desktop computer, you may receive the following error message:
The following appointment cannot be written to Schedule+, possibly because Schedule+ currently disallows overlapping appointments. Clear this option on the Global tab of the Set Access Permissions dialog box under the Tools menu in Schedule+.

End: [date and time]
Your only option is to click Skip.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if both of the following conditions are true:
  • The Disallow Overlapping Appointments option in Schedule+ is enabled.
  • You have conflicting appointments scheduled in Schedule+ and Calendar.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods:
  • In Schedule+, click Set Access Permissions on the Tools menu, click the Global tab, click the Disallow Overlapping Appointments check box to clear it, and then click OK.
  • Delete the conflicting appointment time from either Schedule+ or Calendar.
