XL: Certain Trendlines in Charts May Appear Distorted (166672)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows
- Microsoft Excel for Windows 95
- Microsoft Excel for Windows 5.0
This article was previously published under Q166672 SYMPTOMS
If you use a chart that contains a trendline (polynomial or logarithmic)
and you format the trendline to use a dashed line, the trendline may
appear distorted.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, do not change the line style for the
trendline in your chart. The default line style, which is a continuous
line, does not appear distorted when you use it.
If you already changed the line style for the trendline in your chart,
change the line style to a continuous line (instead of the dashed line).
NOTE: Changing the line weight has no effect on this problem.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
