H/PC Explorer Files Remain After Uninstall (166511)

When you use the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel to uninstall
Handheld PC (H/PC) Explorer, some of the H/PC Explorer files may not be
removed even though you receive the following message:
Uninstall successfully completed.
On your desktop computer, shortcuts to H/PC Explorer may not be removed.
If you double-click a shortcut to H/PC Explorer, you receive the following
error message:
HPC Explorer has failed to start some communication services required
to establish a connection with your HPC. To correct this error you must
restart Windows. Please exit all applications, choose Shutdown from the
Start Menu and then restart Windows. HPC Explorer will now exit.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when you uninstall H/PC Explorer while the program
is running.
RESOLUTION
To uninstall H/PC Explorer and remove any remaining H/PC Explorer files
or registry entries, follow these steps:
- Restart your desktop computer, and then reinstall H/PC Explorer.
- Make sure that H/PC Explorer is not running.
- Use the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel to uninstall H/PC
Explorer while the program is not in use.
