WD95: Document Saved As Word 2.x Errors When Opened in Word 95 (166391)

When you open a Word 2.x for Windows document, you receive one or more
of the following error messages:
ERROR! Bookmark not defined
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut
down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
When you click Details, the following error message is shown:
Winword caused an invalid page fault in module winword.exe at
0137:50019794
CAUSE
These problems occur when the following are true:
- You saved the Word document in Word 7.0 as "Word 2.x for Windows."
-and-
- The document contains a Title field in the header.
-and-
- You reopen the "Word 2.x for Windows" document in Word 7.0 in Page
Layout view.
You reopen the "Word 2.x for Windows" document in Word 7.0 in
normal view, and then click Header And Footer on the View menu.
WORKAROUND
Use the {Info Title} field in the header instead of the {Title} field.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this
problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge
Base as it becomes available.
